If you haven’t visited HealthLink in a few months, you could easily become turned around inside.  A major renovation project has just been completed turning the former medical exam rooms into state-of-the art dental operatories at the expanding clinic.

“We are excited to be in the position to expand our impact in the community,” comments Mae O’Brien, Executive Director at HealthLink.  “We know the need is out there, and now we have the infrastructure to meet that need.”

The expansion project, which also included the installation of an upgraded Electronic Dental Records system allowing for more effective patient treatment, was funded by a final gift from the clinic’s founder couple.  Eugene Jackson founded the clinic in 1999 but passed away before the clinic officially opened its doors in 2001.  His wife, Marie-Louise Jackson, was a generous benefactress to HealthLink until she passed away on March 31st of this year.  Her final gift to the free clinic was to set the physical foundation for growth and expansion.

HealthLink provides free dental services to low-income adults living in both Bucks and Montgomery Counties.  Their patients are those who out there earning a living but cannot afford dental care on their own.  Primary services – including exams, x-rays, fillings, and screenings – are provided on-site at its location at 1775 Street Road in Southampton.

The clinic’s leadership is inviting the community to come to the clinic on Wednesday, November 11th between 1pm and 4pm to learn more about the services available to the community and witness the unveiling of the recent renovations.  An RSVP is requested by visiting http://tinyurl.com/HLdental or by calling (267) 699-0122.

HealthLink Dental Clinic’s mission is to improve the overall health of qualified low-wage earning adults in Bucks and Montgomery counties by providing free preventative and restorative dental services and oral health education.  More information about the clinic, eligibility requirements, and the services offered to patients can be found online at www.healthlinkdental.org
